President Ashraf Ghani has left Kabul for Switzerland where he will participate in the 46th World Economic Forum at Davos ski-resort from January 20 to 23.
Over 40 heads of state, as well as 2,500 business and society leaders are expected to attend. The world's leaders will convene at the meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, under the theme Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Critical current challenges, such as security, climate change and "new normal" global growth and commodity prices, are among the issues on the agenda.
It is expected that Ghani will meet Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Vice President of United State Joe Biden on the sidelines of the summit.
However, details have not yet issued over the possible meeting.
This comes after the second Quadrilateral Coordination Group (QCG) of Afghanistan, Pakistan, the United States, and China on the Afghan Peace and Reconciliation process was held in Kabul on Monday where the QGC called on all Taliban groups to enter into early talks with the Afghan government to resolve differences politically.
